Somebody That I Now Know..... I Met Gotye!!!

So... I can now officially say.... Wally De Backer AKA Gotye is Somebody That I Now Know!! :)

Wally came over to my house on Aug. 1st, 2016!! He is a collector and owner of one of my  Grandpa Harry's  inventions, The Chamberlin Organ.   It was a splendid morning and into the afternoon as we shared stories!  He told me of some cool shops he thought I'd like in LA that he took a gander at during his visit thus far here in Los Angeles.  He also shared with us some of his favorite music and had it playing as background music during our visit.  We talked about things from crazy foods we have tried, to music that inspires us, etc.  He told me he moved to New York about 15 months ago from Australia!  So he said he's adjusting to everything still... but said that NY def. feels like home now!

I felt oh so super lucky that he was curious about my music too! I had mentioned to him about my Modeling/Acting and Music.  He was wondering how I sounded and asked to see one of my videos? I said, Well.. I can do better than that!  I can play live for you, if you'd like!?  He said, Sure!  He wanted to hear one of my original songs... so I picked to play for him my 1st song I ever wrote called "Happy You."  As I played, he was tapping his toes and getting into the beat (which was super cool!) I finished the song and he said... "Wow, You can really sing... you have such a sweet and pure voice, great job!" So yea.... Gotye likes my song!! :)  I felt so super lucky to have had such an opportunity to play for him and get his feedback!! That meant the world to me coming from someone as established as himself,  The Grammy Winner and all that He is!

Let me just tell you... if you ever get a chance to meet Wally.... he's amazing!! Super down to earth... happy and sweet guy.  You instantly get a good upbeat vibe from him and he resinates happiness.  You can tell he loves what he does!  He's super chill and I instantly felt like he was a friend that I've known for a long time.

Thanks for spending some time with us Wally... my family feels super lucky to have met you and know we will be in touch as time goes on!  Thanks for being so awesome!!  Best of luck on your projects!!

2015 Reel Round Up

Oh my goodness.. is it just me or did 2015 FLY by super duper fast????  Well you know what that means, right?? Guess we are all having a lot of fun huh??

This year has truly been another amazing year!! I'm super super happy to have shared my musical talents with you guys.  That was my focus for 2015!! I started to learn the Ukulele (self taught) in Oct. 2014 and decided in May 2015 that I would start to share what I was learning with you on my YouTube channel!!! I had an amazing response to it actually... and happily!! I went from 24 subscribers in May 2015 to 546 now in Dec. 2015!!! I have shared with you some of my favorite songs, I have done special song requests... I did my 1st ever LIVE Broadcast for Xmas and I also shared with you 3 different radio interviews/live music playing... I had my 1st YouTube Contest to celebrate reaching 500 subscribers..... oh, and my most recent addition to my tattoo collection.. my head tattoo journey!! I also was lucky enough to have WON a talent contest hosted by the Dolby Theatre!!   I even ventured out and wrote a few songs this year "Happy You" and "Just Be" I want to work on writing more songs in 2016!! It really has been an amazing year!!

I was able to be on set once this year for "The Eric Andre Show" for his upcoming Season 4!! It's always awesome when my film family is thinking of each other (thank you Chris) ... thus me finding out about this gig and auditioning... to landing the role... I just couldn't pass it up!! I had the most fun on set and got to work with some amazing people once again!! I would love to tell you more, but I must wait until after the episode airs which I heard was due out sometime in late Jan/Feb 2016.  It was an amazing year for a film I was in called "Odd Brodsky" as it hit the film festival circuits big time and won many awards!!! More exciting news will follow soon about Odd Brodsky  !!

 I have taken a bit of time off filming this year to be able to spend more time with my family and my Daughter who is nearing the end of her High School Years.  As I have missed it a lot, doing my YouTube videos for you guys definitely scratches the itch to be in front of the camera!! I plan on getting back in to acting after my Daughter graduates... but of course, if something comes my way... I'm not going to pass the opportunity up!!

With 2016 really really close... I  plan on continuing my #TunesTuesday videos with you over on my YouTube channel!! As always I'm willing to take requests if you have any.. and in fact, I'm working on a few for a handful of people currently!! I'm looking forward to sharing more soon!!!

LIVE with "The Blaine Humbles Show" on Kaotic Radio 12/22/15

December just keeps getting better I tell ya!! :)

So after my 1st Live YouTube Broadcast (Inkerbella's Elfin' Sing-a-Long) I got contacted by Blaine Humbles who has his own radio show called "The Blaine Humbles Show" on Kaotic Radio!! He was wondering if I'd be interested in being interviewed and performing some Christmas songs on his radio station on Tuesday 12/22/15?

I of course was thrilled he asked and said YES!!!  So I was booked!! Tuesday, December 22nd, 2015 for the 9am Hour of his 3 hour radio show!!   I asked if it was ok if Kelsey came along.. and he of course said YES!! I was so excited and Kelsey was too!!  

We got to the radio station at 8:30 am.. b/c I don't like to be late.. in fact, my style is to be early!!

So we went ahead and got inside the studio so I could make sure my Ukulele, Lily was in tune for the show!! :)

I had the best time ever being interviewed by Blaine and his co-host Dan!! I performed 4 different Christmas songs and Lots of laughs were had by all!!  Kelsey even got into the action!!!  She got to sing with me on "I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas" she of course did amazing!!! 

She also got to talk about her favorite band R5.  They even played some of their music on the station!!  Kelsey was so excited to get to talk about R5!! 

We had a blast!!!

My 1st time playing LIVE on air "No Boundaries Radio Show: Aug 5, 2015

Well this week was super exciting for me!! :)

I was contacted by JoJo with the "No Boundaries Radio Show" and she wanted to know if I'd be interested in doing an interview/play live for their show on the ParaX Radio Station!

Of course, how could I resist and offer like this!!? I was totally game!!

PROMO VIDEO 

She told me they were going to pick 3 songs for me to play!! I was scheduled to go LIVE at 5 ( PM , pst time) on Wednesday August 5th, 2015.

I was so super excited!!! I practiced my 3 songs each day!!

The song order was as follows:

"Drive"

As we were setting up to go on live William mentioned that he was wondering if I knew how to play "Tip Toe Through the Tulips"? I said why Yes, I do!!  So we decided at that time to add it to the list!!


William and JoJo were such awesome Hosts and they made me feel super comfortable and welcome to be apart of their show!!
